Visualizing Sound

Microsoft has created a new technology through their Garage Incubator Program that is called Hearing AI . This program is a smart phone app that is used to help increase communication for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. This app will use artificial intelligence to interpret many different sounds, and will send a vibration tone if a smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector were to go off. This is just one of the many features this app offers. This app will also what Microsoft calls ‘deep learning.’ This feature will be used to convert text to speech, as well as speech to text. This feature will make it much easier for the user to have the ability to communicate with the hearing world. Another very cool feature of this app is the way it ‘learns’ on its own. Social Media Case

            We are living in a time where social media is being used as one of the main platforms of communication. This form of communication is either being directly, or indirectly used, as a platform for individuals in power positions to communicate how they feel about certain ‘hot topics’ surrounding our nation. It is of no secret, that our recently elected President of The United States of America, Mr. Donald Trump, has been very much involved in using social media (Twitter) as a way to voice how he feels about some of our nation’s greatest, and most apparent issues. In this writing, I will reflect on the tweets in which Mr. Trump has openly voiced his opinion about the issues surrounding the National Football League, as well as the National Basketball Association, more specifically about the ‘ sub-tweet ’ in which he inadvertently revoked his invitation to the White House to the Golden State Warriors star, Stephen Curry.
